The Muslim Hoosier is MAI’s free quarterly publication, reaching over 15,000 across the state of Indiana. It was first published in 2002 and is one of MAI’s first grassroots initatives. It is distributed throughout homes, mosques, and public libraries, as well as government institutions.

Muslim Hoosier serves as a news source, small business index and community service information guide for the State of Indiana. The publication is a self-supported project, with all funding derived from advertisement sales. Articles cover a variety of topics such as news, community events, government and politics from international, national, state and local perspective. Feature articles include personal stories written by fellow Muslims living in the US and aboard. The Arts & Entertainment section highlight projects featuring Muslims or Islamic issues in the media. Each issue includes the MAI Yellow Pages, which offers Muslim-owned businesses in Indiana.

Muslim Hoosier Magazine is an example of MAI’s continued commitment to serving Muslims living in Indiana. This publication provides a linkage to all community members, allowing Muslims in small and large communities to continue to identify with their religion and receive support when needed.

Environmental consciousness is important both to MAI and the Muslim Hoosier magazine; the new copies will all display that and more as we strive to work towards a better future within our communities and beyond.
